80% of Americans can significantly improve their health just by getting a little more exercise. The Cleveland Clinic highlighted the latest recommendations from the Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee with the aim of 150 to 300 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 to 150 minutes of vigorous exercise each week. That’s about 3,500 to 4,000 steps per day walking at 3.5-4 miles per hour
80% of us don’t reach that goal every week, but not to worry! Every bit of additional exercise helps according to the research. So start with adding any amount of steps that fits for you. If you start with adding 500 steps per day that’s about 1/4 mile and you can work your way up slowly from there.
